Corrugated Plate Interceptor(CPI)

The corrugated plate interceptor (CPI) is a highly efficient oil-water separation device. Its core technology is the corrugated plate gravity separation process, which removes unemulsified free oil and dispersed oil from oily water......

Equipment Overview

The CPI Coalescing Oil Separator is a highly efficient solid-liquid and oil-water separation system developed by our company's R&D team. Drawing upon extensive research in oil-water separation technologies, the system is grounded in the principles of shallow-bed sedimentation and oil droplet coalescence. At its core, the equipment employs a combination of shallow-bed sedimentation, particle aggregation, and density-based stratification techniques to achieve the efficient removal of oil droplets (50 μm and larger) and suspended solids from oil-bearing fluids, while also facilitating the partial interception of colloidal impurities.

This equipment transcends the limitations of conventional oil separators—which rely solely on gravity or centrifugal force for separation—by seamlessly integrating gravity-based sedimentation with coalescence technology. First, utilizing our proprietary coalescing coating technology, the surfaces of the corrugated plates undergo a specialized treatment to enhance their oleophilic (oil-attracting) and hydrophobic (water-repelling) properties, thereby promoting the aggregation of small oil droplets into larger ones. Second, based on Stokes' Law, the system features a carefully engineered flow velocity designed to maintain a laminar flow regime; this prevents fluid turbulence, accelerates the upward migration of large oil droplets and the sedimentation of suspended solids, and ultimately facilitates highly effective phase separation.

Application Scope

Wastewater from petroleum and natural gas production

Wastewater from petrochemical and refining plants

Produced water and hydraulic fracturing flowback water

Food processing and meat/dairy production

Transportation terminals and bulk cargo handling facilities

Renewable fuel and liquefied natural gas processing plants

Technical Features

Efficient separation is achieved by using inclined corrugated plate units: The cross-corrugated surface design effectively increases the surface area per unit volume, and combined with an efficient spatial layout, it increases droplet impact points, resulting in high surface load characteristics. The corrugated angle is set at 40-60 degrees;

High processing capacity: Customized specification from 5 to 500 cubic meters per hour;

For petrochemical wastewater, it can efficiently remove free oil, reducing the oil concentration in the treated wastewater to as low as 10 ppm or even lower;

Compared to traditional separators, this equipment has a more compact design, fewer moving parts, and significantly lower maintenance costs;

Supports the installation of fixed or rotating oil skimmers, flexibly adapting to different application scenarios;

The synergistic effect of multi-stage coalescing plates further enhances the oil-water separation efficiency.
